Galerie May

In 2012 Maylis and Charles Tassin have nested in la rue de Lille in Paris and inaugurated the Galerie MAY. Their creations of furniture are exhibited in this gallery of Decorative Arts, where they impose with audacity a new aesthetic bias. Each decor created is unique and mixes their collection with antiques and emerging artists.

In the wake of the 1940s’ designers, Maylis and Charles Tassin show a strong attachment to 20th Century Decorative Arts.

Galerie MAY produces exceptional furniture, designed in the best tradition of French craftsmanship, restoring past crafts such as marquetry, lacquer and ceramics with a decidedly contemporary flourish.
Through Galerie MAY Collection we rediscover the relaxed and glamorous signature of French style elegance.

They now present their creations in three showrooms rue de Lille and in the countryside in their own property. Charles and Maylis share upon appointment their French way of living.

Interiors

Besides from creating exceptional furniture, Charles Tassin has developed a very personal approach to decoration, convincingly and tastefully playing with the paradox of Neo-classicism. Alchemist of Decoration, he crosses eras to better conjugate them.

As a connoisseur of arts and crafts, he restructures the spaces, alters the perspectives, while respecting the history of the places with a great sense of modernity.

His attention to light, texture, and details, as well as a keen sense of luxury and a certain way of life, keeps him away from today’s Minimalism. A philosophy that already seduced several prestigious customers.
